My English competence in 2015

Choosing just a composition it's a complicated work due to I've been writing this blog for two years, consequently there are thousands of composition. Ok, maybe I was overdoing things, but in fact I've written many posts.

In spite of I've choosed one, a very lovely and private which is not posted in this blog, so it would be unfair if I talked about this one, because you wouldn't see it. Therefore, I choosed this one:

http://englishblogtania.blogspot.com.es/2015/02/is-internet-making-world-better-place.html

The reason why I've choosen this one is for it meaning. Internet could be an interesting and useful tool for our lifes, although it could be dangerous. On the composition there are a lot of conncectors, which make it more formal and estructured. In addition, there's another reason why I like this post and it's due to the fact that I made it with one of my classmates, Anna, a person who I really appreciate.

My English progress from 2013-2015

First of all, I would like to say it was quite difficult to find my first written document, which is entitled EMAIL. This post was an email I sent to my English teacher. In that email, I explained which were my hobbbies, my habits and my goals.
My last composition was a letter to myself, yes,it sounds a little bit strange, but in fact it was to a younger Tània. There I gave advices to myself for the high school years.

The two compositions are about myself and personal, but there are some differences between them, some linguistic differences. The first one I just used short phrases and I hardly use a connector. The letter was more rich on vocabulary including I used connectors even I tried not to use but or and.

I was asked to write about my first oral presentation and the last one, sadly I don't have any evidence of it, so I'm not able to compare them exactly however I'm going to use my memory, which sometimes could be very helpful.

Did I improve my writing skills? Obviusly yes, and not just my writing skills, also I've improved in all kind of ways. As the idioms says Experience is the best teacher.

Remembering the first oral presentation I did is quite easy, as the reason of I was too nervous and bad moments are hardly forgotten. The last one I wasn't that nervous but I was embarassed because I was presenting my research work in front of all the class. One of my goals for University is lose my shynees to talk in front of people (stage fright).

Mr.President

INS Castelló d'Empúries, Castelló d'Empúries
La Moncloa, Madrid
Monday, 13th April 2015, Castelló d'Empúries

First of all, I would like to recognise that work as a president must be a very complicated and hard work. I recognise your efforts in a sincer way.

However, there are big issues in the country which you are ignoring and underrating, even they need more support from the government. As you may know, I am talking about investigation and education, which are two of the most important issues of a civilized country as we are. Investigation could help find new medicines, new therapies, new inventions...And consequently could help us be an important country in the UE and not be just a holidays resort.

Having a good education is the key to solve our problems, we just need to priorize what is more important: football or education?

Looking forward to your prompt reply.
Yours Sincerely,

Can we live without mobile phones? Are we too dependent on them?

Being addicted to our mobile phones sounds familiarto everyone, I'm sure you know someone who is addicted and who proclaims they can't live without their cell phones or maybe that someone is you. Who is addicted?

I admit one of my closest friends is completely addicted to her Iphone and sometimes that's so annoying because is complicated to talk with her, as if she is possessed by the screen of her mobile phone.

Obviously, cell phones are a step forward to the technology which are very helpful for our daily life, so they are positive for us. When their positivity become negative?

As the saying goes, "the more, the merrier", well it didn't work for mobile phones. They could be so addictive, so it's better not to abuse of them, due to thier addiction risk doesn't affect just you, it affects your family and friends too.

In conclusion, it would be better for everyone just to use the cell phone when it's necessary.

What money can't buy

Recently me and my class have seen a video entitled What Money Can't Buy where Michael Sandel explains and analyzes our new concept about market, because it should be restricted to the economical side of the country (or world) but market influences in our ethics too.

The title is a question which made me thought and the result of my mental research is that the most important things in life are the ones which we are more used to and I know it's going to sound cheeky but whatever, love is the most important. Although there are a lot of other uncountless stuff without price like happiness, friendship, time, dreams, emotions and true feelings.

You are not rich until you have something money can't buy

I'm totally agree with that quote by reason of things we can't buy are the priceless. When I was little I was used to say I would like to be rich for buy anything I wanted, nowadays I can see how innocent I was by cause of I thought with money I could buy anything, sadly my innocent childish thinkings are still presents in some people's minds.

Human Rights

If someone had asked to me what are Human Rights yesterday, I just had answered that they were some rights we have for being humans. And my answer would be ok if we just consider the technical part, Human Rights are more than that, they are the first international law which says we have rights and which recognise us as humans not just as living beings.

Human Rights were created on10 December 1948, they were the result of the Second World War, they needed a law which guarantees every individual rights.

There are 30 Human Rights, sincerely I think I'm acquainted with all of them, saldy I can not talk for everyone. Europe is considered as one of the most developed continents, but are we? I don't think so, some months ago an islamic group kill people just because they express their opinion about an issue.

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

Skype with Noa

Weeks ago my class made skype with an ex student of my high school, sadly I wasn't there so I don't know too much about the conversation they have but I asked to my friends and they explained to me a little bit.

Nowadays, Noa is living in Australia! Yes, it's sounds so cool, she's working as an aupair and enjoying Australia.

For me the gap year isn't possible, this idea never was an option to me, because I don't want to lose one year of my studies, and yes I know it may sounds stupid, because in fact you aren't losing nothing and I think it can be helpful and profitable to someone, but not for me.

Abstract

Have you ever seen The Exorcist or The Exorcism of Emily Rose, I'm sure you have, so why don't explore a little bit what an exorcism is.
I had made a research about exorcisms and all which is relacionated with them, for that I've needed the help of a priest. I've also search information about the two films I've mencionated before. I was helped by a real exorcist and I had an interview with him, which was so interesting. And finally I elaborated my own trailer for a film about an exorcism.

If you are interested in topics, like exorcisms, horror films, cinema, or catholicism you should see my research work.

A soulmate

What is a soulmate? If we search in a dictionary the definition of a soulmate is a person with whom one has strong affinity, shared values and tastes, and often a romantic bond. So we can see it's a concept relacionated with a deep and romantic connection.

Soulmate is just someone who fits perfectly into your life, too perfectly that he (in my case) has the power to make you feel like you are full of the joys of spring and the power to break you down with just one action or even worst, just with a word. This magical power doesn't appear out of the blue, we are giving it to him, and I've never give it no one, however I hope that someday I will give it to someone, and he must have some attributes, my ten must-have are these:

  1. He should be attractive, literally a hottie: yeah, I know what you are thinking, what a shallow girl, but we all know attraction is the first thing you feel.
  2. My soulmate has to look me in the eyes: when someone does this, I feel totally insecure and makes me nervous, but in a sweetty way. And if we look each other in the eyes, for me it would mean a totally connection, because I just look in the eyes someone who makes me feel safe.
  3. He should make me feel secure, safe and protected.
  4. He should love my flaws, and I must fall in love with his flaws.
  5. He should share similar likes and beliefs with me, but never all, because then we will get bored. As well, discussions can be enjoyable and amusing sometimes.
However, I don't think soulmates are an eternal love, and their "main feature" is their intensity, and consequently a short time period. I'm so young so I don't have to be desperate, and I hope my soulmate is waiting for me somewhere or I already know him...
Who knows?

Is Internet making the world a better place?

Do you think that there are more pros or more cons about the use of Internet?
At first we thought that the effects of the Internet were more positive than negative, but we ended up writing down more negative problems that are causing a great damage nowadays.

One of the main problems that everyone has, yet not everyone's aware of, is the fault of privacy, we should have to be more concious with the data we post online. For some hackers it's easy to access to your information, or to add fake information, or to add fake information in random websites. Not all the content is true, we shouldn't trust the Internet because it's very easy to fake an account, or to coment in an anonymous way. All those issues makes bulling or pederastry easy to spread. In addition it causes addiction and obsession with having likes or followers in the social networks.

On the other hand having followers is important if you also want to promote yourself or prospering in your Internet business. Internet offers you work places. Besides it's  very helpful for study, not just for searching Internet but for all the facilities that it can offer. Internet is helpful too, for making friends who have the same tastes that you have, to find a partnership or also to maintain long distance relationship.

Despite of all the cons that we have born in mind, we both think that Internet is making a better world. We couldn't imagine how life would be without it, there are a lot of websites that want to contribute to the society for making a world a better place.
